Most shower roses use water at around 15 - 25 litres per minute. Even a quick 8-minute shower can use 80 - 150 litres of water. We sell and install low flow shower heads with a water flow of between 6 and 10 litres per minute. This can reduce water consumption by 50%. New generation low flow shower heads are stylish, give the same pressure and give the same feeling of “wetness” with no problems in rinsing shampoo out of people’s hair.

In America it is illegal to have shower heads that use more than 2,5 gallons (10 litres) of water. City by-laws in Cape Town and Johannesburg will soon specify that all new homes be fitted with shower heads that use 10 litres or less per minute. The second saving comes from reduced electricity use. Less hot water is used from the geyser, meaning that less new water needs to be heated. These shower heads can pay themselves of in 2 - 6 months.
